Christian Dior, the renowned French fashion designer, transformed post-war fashion with the introduction of the “New Look,” a style defined by full skirts and sculpted waists that celebrated femininity and elegance. Dior began his career working with Robert Piguet and later at Lucien Lelong alongside Pierre Balmain. In 1947, he unveiled the “New Look,” a bold shift from the practical wartime styles and a key moment in restoring Paris as the global center of haute couture. That same year, Dior entered the world of fragrance with the launch of Parfums Dior and its first scent, Miss Dior, named after his sister Catherine. Although Dior passed away in 1957, his legacy continues through a globally admired brand known for couture, ready-to-wear, cosmetics, and perfumes. Today, Christian Dior also serves as the main holding company behind the luxury group LVMH. Since 1947, Dior has released over 300 fragrances, created in collaboration with many of the world’s most respected perfumers, solidifying its lasting influence in modern perfumery.
